Description of quality, condition and amenity of room

All single rooms feature wide doorways, individually controlled split system air conditioning, quality vinyl flooring, built in wardrobe with overhead cupboard to ceiling height for additional storage, a bedside cupboard with lockable drawer, a pin board and shelving for display of curios and photographs to keep memories of home close by, an overway table, full length windows to optimise views and natural lighting, electric height adjustable beds with a selection of mattresses to enhance comfort and care, and TV mounts on walls to suit up to 60cm televisions. A hand basin and mirror is also included in all rooms.

Bathroom and toilet facilities are located in close proximity to all rooms.

Room sizes are a minimum of 14.29m2

Description of quality, condition, size and amenity of common areas to which a person living in this room would have access

Residents have access to many quiet sitting areas as well as dining rooms, activity room, and outdoor areas. Wide carpeted corridors ensure ease of mobility for residents.

The front entrance has recently been upgraded and is a relaxing waiting area with seating and a water feature.

The front foyer area has a sitting area with comfortable lounge chairs.

There is a dining room with kitchenette located in close proximity to these rooms which is also used as a sitting area during the day, where residents can watch television, or just enjoy the views through the large windows. A gazebo, lawn and garden area is located through the automatic door at the southern end of the facility (non-secure) where residents can relax and enjoy the sunshine.

The main lounge/dining area is a hive of activity during the day as it is used for meals, activities and features a large screen television and pianola for sing-along’s. This area also has a kitchenette.

A secure paved and landscaped outdoor area is located through the doors from the main dining area with views of the magnificent Flinders Ranges and Spencer Gulf. A large pergola has an outdoor setting and clear blinds that can be used to reduce the breeze if required making this a lovely area in all seasons. An ANZAC memorial is located in this outdoor area and is utilised to observe days of significance.

The lounge/dining area at the end of the new wing constructed in 2007 has large windows to enable residents to enjoy views of the natural environment.

A private dining room for small intimate gatherings is located near the front foyer area of the facility.

Two Internal courtyards with tropical leafy foliage are located within the secure area of the facility. Alcoves with comfortable seating are located adjacent these courtyards creating a feeling of tranquility.

Call bells are located in all bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Art work adorns the walls throughout the facility with quality furnishings and fittings in all areas.

Residents can choose to pay for their accommodation by a refundable deposit, a daily payment, or a combination of both.

A refundable deposit is paid as a lump sum amount. A daily payment accrues daily and is paid periodically, for example monthly. A combination payment includes both a partial lump sum and daily payments.

For example, a refundable deposit of $450,000 would have an equivalent daily payment of:

An example of a combination payment for a $450,000 price may be a refundable deposit of $225,000 and a daily payment of the remaining $225,000 of:

A pneumatic spa bath is located adjacent rooms 1 to 4 which is enjoyed immensely by residents.

Residents are encouraged to participate in exercise classes suitable for all levels of mobility which are held each week in the main lounge/dining area.

The activities program includes ceramic classes which are held every Monday morning in the activities room. Church services are held on a fortnightly basis.

Bus outings are held on a weekly basis. A ‘Men Only’ BBQ is held monthly.

Edenfield Family Care – Nerrilda has a quantity of chairs available for resident use including special pressure relieving chairs. The Home also has a significant range of equipment to assist resident care thank s to the support of the Nerrilda Auxiliary.

All bedrooms are pre-wired for a telephone connection if desired. This is to be arranged by the resident/family. Pay TV may also be arranged at the resident’s expense.

A Hairdresser is available on site each week and a Beautician visits every four weeks for resident’s convenience.

Delivery of daily newspapers and magazines can be arranged.

A large room is available for larger family gatherings to mark special occasions through negotiation with the Care Manager.

Visitor’s meals can be arranged by booking through the facility’s Admin Officer

A charge may be made for staff time to accompany residents to appointments and/or undertake personal shopping if the resident’s family/friends are unable to provide this support.
